Camila Ortiz started training with us in January 2024. Her first amateur fight was a TBA rules Muay Thai bout in Fort Worth in March, Bank worked her corner, and she won on points.
She did her job that night. The two things that went wrong both happened on our side of the ropes, and neither one was hers.
I took my first amateur Muay Thai fight in Fort Worth in March and won it on points, and he worked my corner. He said about nine words the entire night.

The first was the warm up. The card ran late, and we had her gloved up and sweating far too early, so by the time she was called she walked out cold. Now we start the warm up two bouts before hers and keep a jump rope in the bag for the wait.
The second was noise. Bank said about nine words all night, which is how he likes it, but three of us were shouting different advice from the seats and Camila heard every word of it between rounds. Since Fort Worth the rule is one voice in the corner, and everybody else cheers.
